Children attend a weekly club session which has an emphasis on fun and learning. No prior knowledge of Spanish is required. The class content will be adapted depending on the capability of the child. Mrs Lopez makes all her own classroom materials and follows her own Mrs Lopez system using plenty of songs, games and craft activities. There is a library of books and games that the children can borrow to take home.
Mrs Lopez is a native Spanish speaker from Zamora in North West Spain where the proper ‘accent-less’ Castillian is spoken. Mrs Lopez moved to the UK in 2005. She has been tutoring Spanish privately to adults and children for over 12 years and has been working at Balfour Primary School as a teaching assistant since 2010. Her two bilingual daughters used to be Balfour pupils and regularly help out in class.
